Roses and lilies and irises, oh my...
I have been spending most of my extra free time in my garden. When I first moved in our home, there was nothing but a couple tiny trees and a lot of dirt. Now, after years of hard work (loved every minute of it), I have a garden I am truly proud of. For my journal this time, I wanted to share some pics I took recently from my garden. Here is a link to my Garden album on Facebook where you can peek at some of my blooms:
My Enchanted Garden on Facebook
In addition to digging in the dirt and talking to my flowers, I have been staying busy with new paintings. I've begun some paintings on wood, that are sold only once as an original on Etsy. I plan to do many more since they have been selling so well. I've also just completed a romantic piece inspired by all those summer weddings. My "Forgotten Summer" is a faerie couple at their wedding.
Last, but definately not least, I'm finally going to meet my good friend Amy Brown! We've chatted and e-mailed almost daily for so many years now I can't count, but never met in person. I'm flying off to the Pacific Northwest to do a signing on August 7th at Crescent Moon Gifts with Amy. I hope to see some of you there!
Very best wishes,
Jess

Spring has sprung...
Oh happy day....the birds are chirping, the sun is shining and the breeze is blowing. I love this time of year...watching as Mother Nature comes out of her winter hibernation. I've been cleaning out my gardens, getting them ready for the planting season.
With the season change, and Mother's Day coming up soon, I was inspired to create The Gift (as seen in my 2010 gallery). It's a soft pastel, pregnant faerie surrounded by delicate pink roses. It's a little lighter than my usual work, but it felt good to explore the softer side of my art on this one.
Spring always leaves me inspired to create new products as well. I'll be releasing my new puzzles, and a few other exciting new products in the coming weeks and months. I always like to give customers new and exciting things to browse and collect.
My family, especially my two little ones Julia and Joe, are keeping me quite busy with their school events and such, so I won't be doing much traveling in the next few months. But I will be gearing up for the Michigan Ren Faire where I own a large shop. I hope that many of you will plan to come see me there this late summer/fall season.
In the meantime, enjoy your spring and take care!
Blessings,
Jess

Keeping busy and longing for spring...
Wow, I can't believe it's nearing the end of February already! Sorry I missed doing a journal last month. Here in Ohio, it's been an extra snowy, cold and gloomy winter. That has been good for getting some paintings and other work done, but I must admit, I'm longing for springtime and in desperate need of some sunlight.
I've been really busy doing lots of new paintings for my 2010 gallery, and also making lace chokers and other unique magickal jewelry for my Etsy shoppe. My jewelry collection is named Gypsy Rose Jewels, and it is truly not like anything else you've seen.... My new Etsy shoppe just for this collection is at: www.GypsyRoseJewels.etsy.com
I had the idea to create a lace choker and then paint it onto one of my new faeries. My newest release, Shades of Blue, is actually wearing the blue lace choker I made just for this project...and the person who buys the original will get the necklace as a bonus :) You can purchase Shades of Blue in the typical formats, which was done for my ongoing Enchanted Visions project with Amy Brown, in my 2010 gallery.

I'm also really excited to say that this year I now have distribution centers in both Canada and Europe/U.K. My friend and colleague, Tiffany Lemay owns and operates my Canadian division found at: www.mysticpacific.ca and my awesome sister-in-law Rebecca has just launched Ravenstar Trader, my official UK/European division at: www.ravenstartrader.com This will help my Canadian and European customers since they can now buy straight from their area and avoid the super high international shipping rates. And of coure my Australian Distributor, Selina Fenech, is still going strong selling my art and product range down under at: www.fairiesandfantasy.com
On a personal note, my little girl is turning seven years old tomorrow. Wow, does time ever fly. I had a very talented fairy artist friend create this fantasy portrait of the two of us using a black and white photo I had...

Julie Fain turned us into faeries, and I plan to surprise Julia with a framed print of this tomorrow. Julie Fain offers this service and I can't recommend her enough. It's affordable, and is something you will treasure forever. You can view her work and commission her at: www.juliefainart.com Special thanks to Jennifer Mott for use of her original black and white photo as the basis for this piece: www.jennifermott.com
I plan to stay busy with even more paintings, and then will prepare to travel to the Spoutwood Faerie Festival this April for my first appearance of 2010. Hope to see some of you there! More info on this appearance and some others I have planned coming soon.
Very best wishes,
Jess

Holiday blessings...
First of all, I want to wish all of you holiday blessings filled with love, light and magic!
Second of all, I want to thank all of you who purchased holiday gifts through my web site this year. It is truly my honor to have my art given in this manner.
As you may have seen, after December 16th, we will be temporarily closing for the holidays so that all of us at Enchanted Art, LLC can enjoy the holiday after the mad, crazy order filling we've been doing. After the 16th cut off, you will still be able to order here, but your order will wait for our return in early January to be processed and shipped. All orders coming in to us before or on the 16th will ship in time for the holiday.
On another note, I wanted to share with you the fantasy portrait that J. Corsentino recently created of me. We had a photo shoot at this year's FaerieCon, and he has just released the final result. I want to thank him for this awesome experience, and invite you all to view his amazing artwork at: www.timeofthefaeries.com Below is my portrait:

Lastly, you may have seen the new piece posted on my main page. I'm hard at work on a new series of Vampires (a male vampire may even make his way off my art desk!). I'm really enjoying exploring the dark sensuality of this theme and plan to release the series in late January.
Thank you all for your continued interest in my work. I have some exciting things planned for 2010 *wink, wink*.
Love & light,
Jess

Being thankful...
I'm going to try to post a personal journal here once per month, as a way of giving everyone a peek inside my world, letting them know what I'm up to and what is on the horizon.
Since November is the month of Thanksgiving, I wanted to take a moment to give my own thanks to everyone who honors me by collecting my art and inspired collectibles. Without you to enjoy my art, I couldn't keep creating, and for you, I'm eternally grateful. I will do my best to keep new and exciting things coming your way. I'm hard at work on a small series of Vampiress paintings right now, and soon after will be adding to my Celtic Myth & Magick series with portraits of Boudiccea, Bloduewedd, Epona and even a few of the Celtic Gods.
Early this month, I had the opportunity to appear as a guest artist at FaerieCon. This amazing convention is for those of us living the magical life. It was filled with artisans, musicians, crafters, writers and fans. We all played together, danced together, laughed together and enjoyed the magic together. The photo below is myself (right) with Lisa Steinke (left) a fellow artist and dear friend, and Robert Gould (center), the man behind the machine so to speak when it comes to these conventions and shows.

I applaud Robert for his efforts in creating these amazing shows to bring all of us like minded individuals together to share the vibe. I always leave this show so refreshed, with the creative juices flowing, and this year was no different.
I also had the honor of being photographed in full costume by the talented J. Corsentino of Time of the Faeries. He will be turning me into one of his winged fantasies, and I can't wait to show you the end result soon!
Yours truly,
Jessica
